prayer works (if I'm not the one praying)
Ray Y. leads a prayer time at our church on Wed. morning from 9 to 10 am. My wife, Valerie, decided to attend in order to receive prayer for her aching right shoulder. She invited me to pray along with Ray. We both laid hands on her shoulder and prayed as we felt led. Afterwards, I asked Val if anything happened. She moved her arm and said, "I don't think so." We decided to pray again. Again no results. I went back to my office and Ray and Steve continued to minister to Val. To make a long story short, she felt a lot better. The moral of the story is ask Ray to pray for you and not me (not). The lesson is that we are to persevere in prayer. Keep on praying and don't give up.

That reminds me of when I prayed for Gary when he was sick... and guess what? He got sicker! It wasn't what I had expected especially at the time I was heading up prayer ministry... I never felt like healing prayer was my "gift"... in fact, after over 100 people I've personally prayed for over the past couple of months no one has gotten much better... guess what? Not my problem... guess what? Still going to pray... guess what? Jesus still heals today as He did when He was here... guess what He also wants to use me to heal people who are sick since there is no sickness in Heaven... guess what? Remarkably my faith in healing is beginning to grow! That seems impossible since I haven't experienced seeing someone healed yet...guess what? I am getting more excited because I know that as long as I make myself available and continue to pray for people, I will see God heal someone miraculously, just like I hear about... now that will be fun! Anticipation is has become addicting... guess what? I also know that all those prayers are laying the foundation for someone else... maybe I will not see it with my own eyes but my prayers are laying a firm foundation for someone else... how cool is that? God wastes nothing... so I am going to pray for Gary and Gary is going to continue to pray for you... and you can pray for us and one of these days we will be able to see someone like Val get healed too... if you ask Steve and Ray, and Val if prayer works they would say "YES!"...
